After leaving Cheddars (sat there for 30 minutes without seeing a server) we went to OTB and David turned the night around. Quick service, great food, he even brought grenadine to the table to make the sprites we ordered for the kids into Shirley temples. He made an off-menu favorite happen and was entertaining and friendly too. David took great care of us and I would love to eat there every Friday night and Saturday morning just to have him as my server.
I have eaten at this restaurant 3 times, the service has been bad all 3 times. This evening it almost an hour to get our food, and my daughter didn't even get what she ordered. My server didn't even apologize for the poor service. The Manager didn't come to our table when we requested to speak with him. The food at On the Border is of poor quality, there are several better Mexican Restaurants in Memphis with better service.
It was a busy Friday night, so we had to wait a bit on our food, but they kept us in chips and salsa and drinks so that wasn't too bad. The food was worth the wait. I got brisket tacos (my eyes might have rolled back they were so good lol) and my husband got the big burrito. Big is an understatement...that sucker was huge and delicious. Black beans and rice on the side...I only got a bite of each but they were great. Can hardly wait for the leftovers! Waitress did well in the battle between attentive vs. annoying...she was very nice. So, overall, a great meal out. Considering how I am generally fully against going anywhere like that on a Friday (I don't handle crowds well), that is an impressive accomplishment.
Service a bit slow. Food just ok. Drinks too expensive
It's awful. The service is slow. Painfully slow. Lunch on Tuesday at noon and the servers acted as if they were tranquilized. The food is horrible, especially for the price they charge. I would rather eat from a dicey looking food truck than this restaurant. They might be able to save this franchise if the manager is replaced, and soon. The parking lot tells the tale... This place is in trouble.
