A must see in Memphis. The remodel was very well done and the history is told in very special detail. Great options to go deep in the history if you have the day to spend, or just take an hour or two if you are short on time.

The National Civil Rights Museum is truly a beacon which accurately accounts the past and ongoing fight African Americans and their allies have put up to pursue a just, welcoming, and hate free place. There is an immense amount to of literature, personal accounts, audio recordings, images, and videos to investigate and learn from and will require more than one trip to fully take in the history. Loved it.

Fantastic museum. I highly recommend putting this on your list of places to visit if you are coming to Memphis or even if you live in Memphis. It does a great job of walking you through the beginnings of the slave trade and up through the civil rights movement. It was recently redone (several years ago) and it is much better now (not that it was bad before). Great interactive displays and you will not leave this place the same.

Great experience...This was a great learning lesson. It was only 15 minutes off the highway. Very easy to find and free parking. The restrooms were clean and very secure. They have enough outside art and visual effects to enjoy a free self tour. But dont forget its outstanding inside too. Excellent sound effects. Good job.

Probably one of the best museums I have ever visited - absolutely fantastic! The museum is beautifully designed, and the huge amounts of information are laid out in such a way where you don’t feel overwhelmed. Also an incredibly moving experience, and there were several people (myself included) who cried at various times. I cannot recommend visiting this museum enough - you simply MUST pay it a visit.

DO NOT MISS the other side, where you get to see where shots were taken and understand some of the other theories behind MLK's assassination.
