This museum is amazing! The video at the beginning of the tour is entertaining and informative! There are so many cool exhibits and you feel like you are back in time.
WOW, just WOW! Prior to coming to Stax, I really didnt know that much about American Soul music. This museum is incredible informative! If you are interested, you could easily spend hours reading all about the different groups and history of the time- but if you just want to walk through and check out the cool outfits and listen to some great music, that works too. Do not pass up a chance to visit Stax!

Thoroughly enjoyed learning details about this period of musical history. Beautiful displays and the walls of 45 rpm records is awesome! The music brought back memories of younger days. Staff are gracious and welcoming. Admission is very reasonable.
I was absolutely blown away! I will be returning again and again. Low ticket entry cost concidering the super high value you receive for your money. Multiple options for discounts. Excellent, well stocked gift shop. Shelby County residence get in free on Tuesdays and there's live music from visiting artists and/or the students from the Stax Academy in the late afternoon/evening. If you truly invest the time to listen to all the recordings and read all the facts posted throughout the museum you will be impressed with what remarkable achievements this company made to the arts. It will take you several hours to do this. (Pack a lunch). You will exit remembering at least 1 fact and you will be smiling ear to ear!
