The prices on livestock are pretty good overall, especially on the freshwater side. They are pretty much the only place in the Midsouth that carries any sort of live aquatic plants, but don't expect any of the weekend staff to know anything about them. Customer service during the week is about fair, but it's a horrid experience on the weekends. Apparently the ONLY customers who get any service fall into two categories: window shoppers and whiny, unlovable dorks. The window shoppers who ask a million questions and compromise the time of everyone else in the store are the ones who should be ignored---if the choice to ignore must be made. that is. The fish nerds might be longtime customers, who knows, but these are the middle-aged pencil neck types who for some reason assume I won't drag them to the sidewalk and punch them senseless if they push in front of me while I'm waiting patiently.
The bottom line: go there during the weekdays only and you MIGHT stand a chance of getting some help. Also, there's an "internet rumor" of sorts that this place is "under new ownership." I can't confirm and really don't care. I'm going to try them out once again soon and, if my experience is better, I'll delete and replace this review.
Pretty upset that we were sold a green spotted pufferfish with misinformation. Was told it was a freshwater fish only, needed only krill to eat and was a community fish. All of which are untrue. It's listed as an aggressive solitary fish that needs brackish water after the juvenile stage (which this fish is clearly near) and that it must eat shells or it will eventually stop eating and die! Yes, we should have researched before buying but we asked these questions specifically to two of the employees. Not happy to have to tell my child we have to find her fish a new home which we luckily have. Very disappointed that we drove to this supposed "specialty" fish store to have this experience. Will not be returning.
Was in the area and decided to stop in and check them out. Didn't buy anything, I live 2.5hrs from them and wasn't going straight home, but I probably will in the future. Great store, nice supply of fish, coral, and accessories. Very knowledgeable staff that I spent about 30mins talking to.
It’s 5 and they are closed when they aren’t supposed to close till 6. Good thing I only live an hour and 20 mins from here
Great store for beginners and experts. Wide variety and great selection. Helpful and informed staff. Salt or freshwater, they have all your needs covered! Highly reccomend. Definately worth the trip! One of the only stores like this...petco has nothing compared to what they offer @ Memfish!
