Middle school is just gonna pass one day or another.
It's like meh. Some teachers are cool and stuff, but some are just boring and 1D and don't really teach the students in a way that's enjoyable or creative. The administration and councilors don't really help that much for a person that's in actual need, otherwise they're good at solving small issues. I gotta say the teachers do have a bias on the optional and traditional students, especially the ones that teach both. I got some that always compare and say how the optional kids are supposed to do better than the traditional. The two programs actually teach almost the same thing, but just with different teachers and methods and different amount of work.
People say it's awesome, but it really depends on your teachers. There are some great ones, but there are also too many who either don't care or are as boring as heck. Best school in memphis? I don't think so.
This is an awesome school. The optional program is outstanding. The teachers are very nice, challenging, and prepare you for high school. Being around competitive students and being given challenging work has made me more motivated to do my best and my academic standards have risen. The education is brilliant; however, the cafeteria food is not good at all and the hallways are extremely crowded. I struggled to get through the hallways every year. The foreign language program is very thorough as well, including French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Latin. There are a variety of after school clubs that are well-organized and enjoyable. The school offers many opportunities and programs that I wouldn't have been able to have if I had gone to another school. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to come to WSMS. The three years I have spent at WSMS were the best years of my life.
There are good people and bad people at this school. Watch out for thieves though, because there ARE a lot. But as long as you avoid them and hang out with the right crowd, White Station is an amazing place.
I like the school try to say some inspirational things almost everyday on the announcements, but honestly most usually don't even listen to them. I also like that they have a lot of clubs and sports and music classes.
Just do your best and later, let it be whatever.
Sometimes stuff is hard,
I think this school is ok, but that's just my opinion.
This school is great for people interested in the arts and the athletic department. Though, this school is not strong socially. Despite the fact that it is a very diverse school, people are divided by the intellectual levels which prohibit students from being fully submerged in the diversity. They give optional people more attention while they should give traditional more attention so they can grow because optional students already have a high chance of success. You simply can't have a symphony orchestra with just one instrument, that's whats important about the diversity.
The optional program at this school is fantastic, though I can't say the same for the other programs since I don't have any experience with them. Some teachers are extremely challenging, while others are more relaxed. If you're involved in any extracurriculars at this school, be prepared to work hard because the club sponsors are extremely competitive (and the students are too). Even in the classrooms, all of the students encourage each other to do better and better, which really speaks for the achievements that students make.
sometimes stuff is stressful,
but too bad, just deal with it.
