Two Alamo rentals in Memphis the week of Thanksgiving. Mid-size SUV's both times. Excellent service, short counter wait time, easy return process. Thanks Alamo, y'all did great.
My only suggestion is that there needs to be a sign directing me to the cars from the counter area; I got to that area and didn't know where to find the cars [MEM].
Yes, I had to wait, but the agent was efficient and it took only about 15 minutes until I was out the door and into my car.
I like renting from Alamo but my last experience was not as good as the others. The car I rented had pet hair all over the back seat and it smelled like a pet shop. I decided to keep thr car cause I was exhausted from traveling and had business to handle. Also, there was only one other vehicle in that class available at the time...maybe they would have upgraded me for free I dont know. Also, some time later I notice that the bluetooth feature wouldnt work at all...and the car consumed alot of gas. It was a midsize car, chevy cruze, it consumed way more gas than the last car I rented from Alamo, Toyoto Camry. Beaware (Lol) I only had the cruze a week and spent almost $100 in gas. After I returned the vehicle, I asked for a manager. The rep asked about my concerns. I told her about the pet hair. She asked me why I didnt pull a number or something of that nature. What?! Lady, I dont know what you talking about. From my understanding, the cars should be thoroughly cleaned before being available to customers. I shouldnt have to experience pet hair all over the seats. I know whoever cleaned that vehicle out on 12-04-17 saw all that hair but didnt care. I did send a email to customer support after I got the car but havent received a response. The manager at the location gave me a phone number to call...this is too much for me. Im not gonna worry about it. Next time, I will handle the situation accordingly. Whoever cleaned that cruze that day didnt even TRY to clean the car properly. It was pet hair, pet smell and stains on the seats. Just horrible!
This is my experience with Alamo( specifically on the Memphis airport property), were they unprofessional, no they weren't. I rented through hotwire, and there were no issues. I live in Texas, so I traveled all the way from Texas, only to get to the counter, and they tell me, due to my credit card not having a watermark (MC for mastercard) they are not able to rent to me
I rented a car from Alamo at the Memphis Airport. When I got to the counter, there was a long line (5 people ahead of me) at Alamo, but not at the other rental companies. I guessed, that Alamo had the best rates.
*ADDED 3 PICTURES AS PROOF OF MY EXPERIENCE
The car worked well. I had no problems. The return was also without problem. I would rent from Alamo again at this location.
Price was right, car selection fine, bypassing counter great.
