Great ambiance, food and staff. Nice size portions, shrimp creole appetizer is great and the sweet potato cake is to slap your mama for. Will be back.
I loved every bite of my food from G. ALSTON. From the atmosphere to the plating and staff. I definitely will be going back again and again to eat my way through the menu!
Slowly but surely becoming one of the best new restaurants in Memphis. The portion sizes are generous and the food is out of this world.
Went here tonight to celebrate the holidays with my family. The ambiance is great and the decorations are beautiful. Our service was very lackluster, especially for a restaurant marketing itself as fine dining. Steak knives were forgotten and we had to ask to have our plates taken between courses, among other things. I ordered the lamb shanks, the shanks weren't great; there were only 2 shanks, and they was very little meat on either. However, the sides were great, as well as the appetizer we ordered (mac n cheese hushpuppies). As far as desserts go, the white chocolate bread pudding didn't taste great, but the cobbler was great. Overall, the restaurant is beautiful and has great potential, but the food and service have much room for improvement.
Food was good but served not warm enough and service was much too slow and somewhat inept. It took 1.5 hours to get a simple omelet and potatoes platter.
