I hope that some day in the near future, that Jason's deli takes the step towards environmental conservation that the other leaders of the health food industry have taken. Your food is excellent, but there are other healthy places that I can eat without being forced to buy plastic.
I am a big sandwich lover and Jason's Deli always has fresh ingredients. The staff is really nice and they always make sure my order is correct before I leave. I like the old school glass bottle beverages they offer. They are always a good option for dinner or lunch in my opinion.
I'm very disappointed today. For the last two month's I have been getting my lunch at the Cordova, tn. location. I am very big on plastic conservation and I don't like to use it if it can be avoided. I have been ordering the salad bar to-go and getting them to substitute the very large plastic containers with the smaller paper rectangular ones instead. Yes, I was paying the same price and squeezing what I could into the smaller container and walking away EVERY time with less food than I actually paid for. This was fine with me since I knew I wasn't damaging the environment with every meal I ate there.
Fresh is important and that's what they've got! Service may be a tad slow depending on what you've ordered & what staff they have but usually worth the wait!
However, today the manager came up to me while I was fixing my miniature salad and informed me that they did not allow this and that I could no longer request the SMALLER paper container and that if I wanted a salad to go then I must accept the large wasteful plastic container instead. I informed them that if this was the case, then they would never see me there again. She said that's just how it is...
This is a family friendly restaurant. The Mangers and staff are personable. The food is plentiful and good. I ordered the half and half California club and the new menu item red beans and rice it was delicious. The croissant was toasty and warm and their was plenty of turkey on my sandwich. I got the guacamole on the side and I was impressed it was delicious. My husband and I shared a small plate of fruit and fruit dip. It was amazing. The only issue I experienced was the red beans and rice was warm but not hot in two occasion. One of the workers said it was a new menu item and their still working on how to keep it hot. I will try the salad bar on my next visit.
Service is always great and the salad bar is super fresh. They have the best broccoli cheddar soup.
I would've thought that a store that is as health conscious as Jason's deli is would be VERY aware that the bulk of the health conscious individuals are ALSO very aware of environmental friendliness and that we go the extra mile to avoid places that do not do their part to stop the global pollution that is destroying our planet.
