The overlook is breathtaking. The restaurant is gorgeous. We came in for a nice dinner. Service was excellent but the food did not meet our expectations. When you are looking at around $30 a plate, your expectations are high. Overall, I would return for the view and ombiance but definitely order differently.
$10 elevator ride to the top was worth it. We were just driving through the city and didn't have time to go anywhere else we just wanted to see the city, beautiful view. Decided to eat dinner there on an impulse. Victoria (I'm pretty sure that was her name) our waitress was awesome! Very friendly and helpful and explained the menu and answered questions. However, I'm giving 2 stars because I would not eat there again. Food was overpriced and took forever. We waited a long time for our meals to come out. We were all very hungry and there wasn't even complementary rolls or anything on the table. We didn't want to order any apps for the table because they aren't apps to share, the apps are like small meals and they are expensive. I ordered the duck, which is actually an appetizer, as my meal as well as the southwest salad. You get reimbursed the $10 you paid for the elevator if you order an entree but even taking $10 off the entree still cost more than the duck, but I really wanted to try the duck. I was completely underwhelmed. The duck was cold when it came out! I think it sat waiting for the other meals in my party to be done. The flavor was good, not great. The southwest salad was okay but I've had way better. I enjoyed the glass of wine I had and the setting and view were great, but I expected way more from the restaurant. I would go up the elevator again to see the view, but I will not eat there again.
So disappointed. I really expected more from this place for the price. The food was flavorless. I ordered desert 3 different times because they were out of everything. Our waiter was nice. And the young guy singing was amazing.
I attended a private event here and the entire experience was excellent. The staff was very friendly and professional. The appetizers were very good (crab cakes and the bacon wrapped scallops were the best). Our dinner service was buffet style and was well laid out, well prepared and tasty. The location has great views of Memphis and the surrounding area.
Absolutely amazing place and something for all people! Great service and staff plus clean with a double set of elevators that take you higher up which serve as a glowing tower in center of store. Lodge within first floor with wonderful indoor cabins facing inside this store. Elevators carry you higher with a rush in your tummy when see that overlook has glass floors and see forever. Also a very nice restaurant that only charges small fee for being at second level and having this unforgettable experience in which no where in Memphis TN will you enjoy such a comfortable or even adventurous type ,work of Art, that touches peoples outdoor senses!
