This place is so slow with everything they do. It is very dirty looking every time I come in here. They will have you there all day just to come and let you know that they can only give you an antibiotic and send you home.Weeks later you will surely come home to a bill with an extreme amount on it, to only have been told nothing!
Went here for a gallstone attack. Ended up needing gallbladder removal surgery. Most staff were helpful and friendly, except for one nurse on my discharge date. She helped me up out of my bed, and afterwards complained of a slight mark on her hand (most likely from my tight grip due to pain). I genuinely apologized, and thought the situation was over. Turns out I have security in my room a few minutes later saying that I INTENTIONALLY BIT her hand. Didn't bother to hear my side, just escorted me to the lobby like a criminal, with threats of said nurse pressing charges. For something I DID NOT and WOULD NOT do. P. S.: I believe the nurse's name was Danyale, and she worked on the 3rd floor.
Floors and walls of the E.R. room are extremely dirty. Someone else's urine sample was left in my husband's room! Used needle on the floor! Gross. Feel like I'm going to catch something in here
I was admitted and taken to my room on the 3rd floor. Nursing staff did a whole body skin assessment, put slip-proof socks on me, and showed me how to use bedside controls. The nurse told me to call for bathroom assistance and then set the bed alarm as an added precaution. A staff member asked if I had eaten and when I told her I hadn't, she brought me a heart healthy tray of decent tasting pasta with meat sauce and a vegetable dish. When taken out of my room for the MRI, I noticed that staff had placed a "high risk" for falls sign on my door; I found this reassuring.
This is a horrible place. If i were dying and that was the only hospital on the planet, i would rather die. Security is ridiculous! I was trying to take my daughter to the emergency room not 201 poplar. I did get her to a hospital where you walk in with no hassle from "security", no emptying your pockets, and no metal detectors. That hospital was named Saint Francis. Thank God for Saint Francis!
I arrived at the ER on Saturday with complaints of dizziness and loss of balance. Staff assisted me into a wheelchair, quickly got a history and vitals, and then put me in an examination room. I was seen almost immediately by a nurse practitioner and by an ER doctor shortly thereafter. The physician ordered labs, CT scans, and an MRI. Staff members introduced themselves, stated their purpose and used appropriate gloving and hand washing.
My experience at Methodist North was positive for the following reasons: Infection control procedures were effectively observed, staff members were professional, diagnostic tests were thorough. My only recommendation is that staff members who smoke cigarettes rid themselves of the odor before getting up close and personal to a patient.
In spite of being called at least 3-4 times during the night to assist me to the bathroom, the staff members were pleasant and patient. While I was occupied in the bathroom, the night shift R.N. actually straightened the sheets and extra blankets on my bed. I was pleasantly surprised to come out to a neatly prepared bed.
