The service was a little slow (which is understandable since the ER is usually very busy) but I was well taken care of. I went in for severe stomach pains and found out I had gallstones. The staff was very nice and helpful and so was Dr. Reid. Usually people have trouble with finding my veins to draw blood but the nurses were very patient with me. My visit was good overall.
I recently moved to the area and shortly after that I found out that I was pregnant. I saw an OB/GYN mid-wife at one of the satellite offices who only confirmed that I was pregnant by giving me a cup to go urine (no blood was drawn). Then I was informed that I need to be referred to a Maternal Fetal Medicine "high-risk" doctor. Another week or so has gone by with no call so I called them several times and never received a call back until days later. My first appointment with Maternal Fetal Medicine was 3 weeks away and I'm thinking this is crazy and I'm "high-risk". I go to the appointment at 9 weeks pregnant and nobody ever gives me an exam. They just asked me questions and then I'm dismissed...wow! I had pain when I became 16 weeks and was told to go to the ER. The doctor called me back after 3 hours and sat me in a corner in a folding chair and asked was I pregnant, put his hand on my stomach, and told me to go back to the waiting room. That was really strange. I had a few problems since then and I'll leave message after message and nobody ever calls back (maybe twice many days later). I had to call in the middle of the night and the doctor that was on-call asked me whose my doctor and I tell him and his response was "we don't have a doctor by that name." I was blown away. I developed a cough about a month ago. The nurse kept telling me to get some Robitussin. I did and it didn't work. Then I was prescribed an asthma pump and that didn't work. Then I was told to go to Labor and Delivery. I said for a cough ... what the hell. I never went because I feel like I'm just an experiment patient. I'm now 22 weeks and I've only seen my doctor one time...very strange. The reception staff is rude. The facility isn't clean. I'm really nervous and scared about the care going forward. As of today, no doctor or nurse has touched (examined) me. I've never received "high-risk" care like this before in my life. I also think the staff should not just assume you have Medicaid insurance from the state. They should ask what kind of insurance you have before assuming. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. I'm horrified and trying to find a new high-risk doctor.
I was transferred here from a hospital at home(Mississippi) EVERYONE was so awesome, from my first day to my last. No one ever made me feel like I was a bother nor was anyone uptight.. You can tell that everyone gets along as well and is very helpful to eachother..from the Doctor that performed my surgery to EVS! Being in the medical field myself, this would be my ideal work environment and peers!!
I had recently given birth here at this hospital...and all I have to say is never again in life will I ever be a patient at this hospital. They do not know what they are doing. You are treated as if you are an experiment. I have had the worst ever experience in my life here. I was recommended having my baby here because of me being high risk and everything you could imagine went wrong. Did I mention that they don't know what they are doing(I just wanted to emphasis that again!!!) Stay away from this place!! I would recommend any other hospital in Memphis except for this one!!! And this is just me being nice. I would actually rate them -250!!
My nephew and sister were almost killed due to their lack of knowledge. They cut her even though she had requested a c section and they told her no. One of her veins was servered, she waited on the floor for a hour after she fell waiting for help. They haven’t checked her stitches. They have no clue what they are doing. I recommend going somewhere else.
