Went to ER with shoulder pain, couldn't move arm and swollen collar bone. The dumb ass NP said it was a rash. Come to find out from another hospital that I had bad rotary cuff as Nd needed surgery. I think the entire staff is on drugs or idiots. Go to St. Francis only to die. They suck and steal

Every week for the past month I have received IV iron through outpatient services at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Nikki and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful and made sure I was in and out as quickly as possible (and much fast than other hospitals I have received treatment at in the past). They were even nice enough to offer sandwiches, snacks, cold drinks etc during the procedure! I consider myself very lucky that my doctor was able to arrange treatment at St. Francis. Thank you!

It yet stands out in my memory, how well I was treated as a patient at St. Francis a few years ago. Actually guess you can say a patient/employee...My ER timing per acuity was super fast. From ER to 5T and fm Nsg care to housekeeping n dietary, the staff was undeniably great! Thanks to all who were involved in my care.

Was just recently there in the er regarding a puncture wound in my hand. I was admitted pretty quickly but noticed when I got in the room, they needed to do some serious cleaning in that place. They left a bottle of someone else's urine sitting on the bedside table next to me and the trash was overflowing with iv's and dirty gloves. The sheets needed to be changed and the floors needed major sweeping. With all that being said, the staff was pretty helpful. The nurse I had that did my stitches was kind and experienced. It was a 2 hour visit which was pretty good considering they were rather busy. Just know if you go to the er, don't expect a very clean environment.

My husband visited their ER complaining among other things, of shortness of breath. The provider did not listen to his breath sounds. She barely took a cursory glance in his mouth and declared strep throat. Which is funny because I don't remember one of the symptoms of strep throat being shortness of breath. 36 hours later we were in a different ER because the pneumonia had gotten so bad I could hear the crackles coming from his lungs from 3 feet away. No stethoscope needed. To add insult to injury when we disputed the bill they stonewalled us and charged over $700 for the use of the facilities. I'm no rocket scientist but aren't they supposed to make sure that the providers they give privileges to are actually doing the bare minimum in patient care? What I am is nurse and I know what a basic assessment is supposed to look like. I'll give Saint Francis a hint (since it's painfully obvious they have no clue what they're doing). You listen to the patient's heart and lung sounds. Every. Single. Time. But even if you have your head in a dark, damp, stinky place you should at least know enough to listen when your patient complains of shortness of breath. We recently moved here and that was our first interaction with Saint Francis. I guarantee you it will be our last. This is how you miss stuff that kills people. It is completely unacceptable and I'm even more upset that they are completely writing us off. This sort of behavior is a symptom of something much bigger going on. Don't let you or your family be a victim of their complacency. Go somewhere else. Especially when there's so many other options around here. If they can't be bothered to meet the standard of care every single time what kind of care will you get?
