Nursing staff needs more training on the use of some of the orthopedic equipment. better time management skills (failing to administer pain medications to post-op patients on a schedule q 4 hrs or q 6 hrs), which although they are order "as a needed order"; the first 24 hours are crucial in preventing pain spikes when narcotics are missed, then trying to play catch up, once the pain is at a 9, on the pain scale. Being a nurse 38 years, gives me some knowledge about how things Should Go, but don't always, even with the best of nurses; however, I would not wish my relatives are friends, being left alone in the Out Patient unit, since they possibly will not
Nurses I had were nice.... doctor's didn't seem to give a care. One spent more time trying to flirt with a family member than trying to find out what was going on with me. This same doctor then , without extensive lab work or testing tried to push over the counter drugs on me and told me that I needed to be taking them for the rest of my life. HUGE waste of my time. Have only ever been treated worse than this , and that was at THE MED ...I would not wish this place on my worst enemy..
be getting the optimum care. We did discuss our concerns with the Director of the Unit and she said she would address the problem and apologized on behalf of her staff not keeping the standard of care where her goals had been set.
I was assisting my sister because she was in pain. We literally waited about 3hours before anyone could see her. Also the ladies at the front desk was beyond rude to not only my sister but other patients family members inquiring about the health of their love ones. Hospital administration/physicians should acquire the characteristic of “CARING” or “HELPFUL” . Never again.
One of the cafeteria workers ( Trina) was very rude. Instead informing me of how their ordering system goes, she gets an attitude. So I assume she’s going to take my order........NOPE, she starting joking and laughing with a coworker like I wasn’t even there. I mean every bit of 5 minutes. Then she proceeds to pass out orders to ONE other person waiting, mind you she’s still ignoring me. After more customers come in she says “ can I help who’s next?”. Talk about appalled! Just straight unprofessional. Obviously I didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to get the box myself. If she’s that rude I can only imagine what type of service I’d get from the hospital staff. I wouldn’t bring my dog over here. My first time here and I was wondering in a doctors office. Just sad how people have no respect anymore. I think the HR lady was standing next to me. Whatever happened to customer service with a smile?! At least the cashier was very nice. Thanks Twanda.
Considering the source of most of these criticisms, I believe the critics are overlooking that this is a fine hospital with a very cordial well educated staff !!! St. Francis serves its community well !
