Also, Called the front desk around midnight to inquire about late night food delivery options near by. The only thing I could understand was the word pizza. I deal with people on a regular basis that have thick foreign accents, but this was just too much for me to understand. I don’t think this was an accent issue, but was likely a language proficiency issue. Anyway, We decided to go to the vending machine instead. They have items to purchase near the front desk but the price list evidently was not up to date because he appeared to be struggling to find the price for the KitKat bar. I felt maybe he gave up and just charged me a random amount.

2. The front entry door (automatic sliding door) was stuck partially open with a sign that said something along the lines that it was safe to use, just push apart. This was still broke the next morning at checkout.

This place was okay. The price was right and there was a breakfast included, though the eggs and sausage were floating in water in the pans. We were fairly close to places we wanted to visit but not within easy walking distance. The beds were comfy and the wifi was pretty good. It was probably a good deal for the money.

None of these items a major concern in themselves, however, everything combined left us with a not so pleasant experience. they need to take more pride and fix some of this stuff. If it wasn’t for it being so late getting back to the room, I would have requested another room or a refund to find another hotel but we were far too tired to worry about it as we would leave as soon as we woke up anyway. Lesson learned, I’ll take pictures next time.

3. Old building, we stayed on top floor. Had low hanging ceiling tiles on our floor with mold and/or mildew.

We stayed here to try and avoid the high prices of the downtown hotels and the reviews we read made it sound good. I only gave 3 stars because the breakfast was absolutely horrible. I can usually eat anything but this I wouldn't even consider it food. The room was OK, seemed fairly clean, the king size bed was OK but not real comfy and the pillows are really small and uncomfortable, I would rather they had 2 king bed size pillows. If you want a cheaper place to lay your head and still be within a mile of downtown this is a good option but figure on buying breakfast out. I think I will spend another $30 to $40 next time and stay downtown or do an air-bnb downtown.

Came to Memphis to attend a concert with my 16 yr old son to watch his favorite band. Some concern with the upkeep of this property. Neither one a major concern, but everything combined left me with a less than desirable experience. I would expect stuff Iike this out of a $50/night hotel, not a $100/night hotel.

1. Towel rack in bathroom was torn off the wall. No evidence of attempting to repair or replace. Just peeling paint and exposed bolts in sheet rock.

I chose to sign up with best western rewards on a previous BW stay I had at another location, but this hotel makes me want to reconsider that choice. Maybe a holiday inn or Hampton inn won’t have these problems.

Two stars only because the room appeared to be clean, but with the state of repair of the building, I wonder how much effort they really put into cleaning.

Easy location to get around town from. Hotel staff was AWESOME, thank you. Felt totally safe.

The location of the hotel was great. Nice views of the city. However, the hotel was understaffed and breakfast was less than mediocre and one day there was no coffee at all. I reported that the light next to my bed was out and was told that there was a man was coming to fix it but unknown as to when. He never came. Plastic cups were not replaced. Also when we arrived, it was pouring rain and cold and both outside doors were locked. Finally the receptionist came and said she locked it because she was alone and had to go to the bathroom. She seemed to be the one doing it all! We are diamond reward members and were very disappointed.
