My first visit was in January 2017 paid $80.00 copay saw physicians assistant she took medical history, Doctor Ghawji did biopsy told me see you in 6 months, and I never received bill from Doctor Ghawji's office - I did receive bill from lab, then in July 2017 I received a document from Doctors office showing a balance stating do not pay / please sign enclosed document giving us permission to appeal on your behalf....I signed it and now awaiting decision .....August 21, 2017 had Doctors Appt with Dr. Ghawji, and The girl that was checking me in ask me if I was going to Make a payment today on my balance, I explained the appeal to her, she then got the bookkeeper Judy - the bookkeeper came out asking if I would pay balance owed in full, I said not today it is in appeal, she told me it had nothing to do with them, I told her there office is the ones who filled the appeal, I told her after my appointment when I get home and can pull documents and call insurance agency, I can send her copies, she told me I could not be seen by Doctor till balance of $200.00 was paid...I told her I didn't have $200. At that very moment but could pay Friday I asked if I could still be seen, she shook her head no .....BESIDE THE FACT THE front office girls and the bookkeeper TREATED ME LIKE I DIDNT MATTER...) I have a vascular goiter that has unidentifiable cells they want to monitor this would of been my follow up appoint after biopsy.....this Doctors office clearly broke Hipaa Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act speaking openly and everyone in the front waiting room could hear and new my Name and business, I ask if we could talk privately and she opened the door in the hall IT WAS NOT PRIVATE..she didn't seem or care who listened... I told her didn't have the $200. At that time I only had my $80.00 copay.. can you explain what the charge was for nothing was listed on appeal signature request..she said no it has been to long....I was embarrassed, and scared because of my thryroid condition,,,,,, when I left - two patient that were in the waiting area when this happened stepped on my same elevator they said they couldn't believe what they did to me - I was on verge of tears...I couldn't believe it either and I didn't know the bookkeeper could refuse medical care to a patient...I certainly believe payment should be made, but I was waiting for appeal results..... I can't go back to that office after I saw the lack of empathy and willingness to help with a solution or explanation - My husband also sees Dr. Ghawji and he said he wood rather find a new provider also...*******.My rating is given merely for office staff and bookkeeper...I found Dr. Ghawji to have an a unpleasant bedside manner and seems to be thorough and knowledgeable but never explained my condition / Diagnosis during my one and only visit..and my husbands two visits..same thing
Doesn't care about his patients well being! My husband is on U100 insulin but was given U200 by the nurse as samples without any directions. This could have killed him. Beware!
I went in for my thyroid and thought he was great. He made me feel so much better after explaining everything to me and I go see him every 6 months. I was very pleased with him.
I did call my insurance agency and asked if the Dr. Office filed an appeal and they informed me the Dr. office Did file an appeal in July 2017 for service received January 2017, and they just mailed out the decision on 8/21/17.Really...LoL go figure...I'm paying the balance owed....
