All things considered, I had a great stay. If I visit Memphis again, I would definitely stay at this location.
As an “Eggs Benedict and Mimosa” type of gal, I wasn’t too crazy about the breakfast. But for a FREE breakfast, I will say that it definitely covered all the bases: eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, pastries, waffles, and coffee. Speaking of coffee, it was always fresh and readily available.
The only inconvenience that I experienced was that the gentleman at the front desk was unable to find my Marriott Rewards account when I checked it. Although this may not seem like a big deal to most, I would be remiss if I didn’t communicate just how important the check-in/intake experience is for weary travelers. In this case, it literally made the difference between a 4 and 5 star review. I booked the trip through my account on the Marriott app, so I was really surprised to hear that he was unable to find it. He gave me an 800 number to call. After being exhausted from a 12 -hour drive, the last thing that I wanted to do was call an 800 number (especially since I visited a different clerk the next day and she was able to retrieve my Marriott Rewards number with no issue. She explained to me that it was associated with my account).
Really nice place to stay. Inexpensive. Free breakfast in the morning downstairs until 10am. They have waffles, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, eggs... Pretty much everything. Everything was nice and clean in our room. The staff was super friendly, from the front desk associates: Josh, Crystal... , to Sandra in the breakfast room, to the cleaning crew when we check out. They all make you feel right at home.
The mattresses are on the soft side and don’t offer much lumbar support. So if you like soft mattresses, you’re in luck! There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room, which was really great for storing and reheating leftovers. If you’re a light sleeper, don’t forget your earplugs or noise canceling headphones. There were a pair of energetic kids right across from me on one side of me, and a room of club-goers on the other side. Neither group was being obnoxiously loud, but conversations and door slamming in the halls at 3 am and at 6 am definitely woke me out of my slumber.
We made a reservations and within a few hours had to cancel it. We immediately called, cancelled and were told that we would not be charged. And guess what - $157.43 was charged to our card. I have called and Daruis, the manager, very rudely told me that I was misinformed and he would not refund my money. It was a same day reservation for two nights but his employee mess up so I should not have to pay. We are in Memphis often but we would not recommend this rude management to anyone! Stay somewhere else.
This hotel is located right near the interstate. You can also get into the Galleria with little trouble, which means you can get to anything in the area relatively easily. It is about 15 minutes from downtown, so it's pretty convenient for most of Memphis. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues with the hotel and our room during our stay, but the staff was friendly and helpful and the price was great.
Great location with friendly, professional staff. Navigating around the city was a breeze since this hotel is right near I-40. Located right near the mall, Target, Walmart, a wine store, and a variety of restaurants, this hotel is in the PERFECT location. I was able to work out in the fitness center which had had 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, and a rack of dumbbells. By the second day, I discovered that there was an LA Fitness located just 3 minutes away, so I took classes there for the remainder of my stay.
The hotel was great! It's across the street from a mall and right next to so many stores & restaurants! It was very clean & the room was nice. The bed was quite comfortable as well. They even had fresh baked cookies at the front desk!
