Stayed here about a week ago for business in Memphis. First initial impression that the rooms were nice and they did not smell like mildew from my sense of smell (2nd floor). Many other reviews said that it did. Bathroom sink and mirror were dirty though. Air conditioner did not work in the first room so moved to another witch that air conditioner worked about 25% of the time. Ended up opening up a window, which had no screen, and checked out the next day instead of my 4 nights. The manager did get a hold of me and asked me a few questions about the stay. She was very nice and understanding.
Don't even know where to begin with this place other than its awful awful awful. Lady at the front desk was rude. Told us we had a room with 2 queens and got 2 fulls instead. As we were walking to the elevators, the hallway next to the pool was flooded with water. No one was there trying to clean it up and there was one small caution wet floor sign in the corner.. Upon getting to our room, we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of mildew (being covered up with some sort of carpet cleaner?). When entering our room, the smell was even worse. Tv didn't work, air conditioner smelled bad, and when I went to take a shower, water was lukewarm (and that's being nice). Would NOT recommend staying here. What I would recommend is them downgrading this from a Fairfield Inn & suites to a motel 6.
Service was excellent. The room was very nice and clean. Terrible odor in the hallway and elevator, I do not know what it was. There was either a fire or a fire drill around 10 pm. Two fire trucks. I did not leave my room and was not notified in any way of what was going on. Only one ice machine on first floor. Good place to stay for one night. Dark parking area and a lot of big trucks parked out back.
If I could give this place no stars I would. Upon arrival the parking lot was vacant. 18 wheelers were parked in the back which is also the entrance. The hotel smelled like mildew and they tried to cover it up by carpet cleaner. Our room was dirty! Food was on the carpet, the sheets were bloody, hair was in the sink, chairs, and bath tub. We changed rooms twice and we still had issues. We finally decided to leave after the hassle and we came to the south haven location, which is 100% better than this location. Please don’t stay here it’s a waste of time and money!!!
I've been a Marriott Rewards member since the 1980's. This one needs some maintenance - broken seal in room window meant that the room was somewhat noisy (our room faced the hotel's truck parking lot); broken toilet seat; defaced emergency signage. First walked in the room and there was a crawling bug (live) on one night stand. Went to use the bathroom and the bathroom door did not close properly. In fairness, the bacon, scrambled eggs, melon, pineapple, and lemon cake which were supplied for breakfast were very good and the individual milk cartons had expiration dates which were two or three weeks into the future. Staff were very pleasant.
