Room was too small. I had a king studio. Barely enough room to fold out the couch. Bathroom was recently renovated which was nice. A/C unit wasn't on when I arrived. It wouldn't turn on. It wasn't plugged in all the way, but I was able to plug it in and get it working.
This location is currently under construction. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. The staff is friendly. New location is decent. Several restaurants in the area. I would stay here again but it is not my favorite Hampton Inn. Three stars is accurate.
Hopefully the renovations will update the property and increase the overall feel.
I've always loved this property due to (restaurants, shopping, center location of the city). The staff is fabulous! However, the property needs a serious face lift. The guest rooms are dated and humid (even with the air condition running). Poor ventilation in the bathrooms. Poor lighting in the rooms. Air condition units are loud/poor cooling. Some guest rooms are better then others depending on the floor location. Most of the beds are comfortable except for my most recent visit (lumpy) bed.
Under renovation till about February. Noise and water shut offs to be expected. Old location, no suites, by train, no shuttle, no microwaves in room. One small meeting room. Outdoor pool not open. Frig avail on request no fee. Good location near food and shopping and interstate. 20min from most sightseeing (Crystal Shrine Grotto a must). Decent staff & breakfast.
We have stayed twice. Not sure we ever will on our next visit to Memphis. Lots of maintenance issues. How they do the standard breakfast was not good. Most Hamton Hotels had better quality. Management response left something to desire. We stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties. Nice hotel in bad repair l
