My wife and I stayed at the La Quinta East Memphis in April 2017. We were pleased overall with our stay. The physical condition of the hotel is nice and it seems like the carpet is fairly new. The room was a two bed room and came with a mini-fridge and a microwave along with the standard hotel amenities. The only issue I had is that the water pressure seems fickle. I was mid shower and the water flow essentially slowed to a drip for about 30 seconds. After that, it was normal again. The pricing was better than some hotels closer to downtown and the parking situation is pretty nice. The property is adjacent to a gas station, so that's another plus.
Desk Clerk very nice and professional. Clean room, firm bed, easy to find room, felt safe. Stayed and paid more based on reviews. Just a couple of disappointing things that made feel that it's a two star. Stain on fabric chair, dirty counter by coffee pot, dirty hair dryer and electric hazard lamp.
Best place in this area. It is a bit more but the rooms, towels, and sheets are clean and everything works. They have a good breakfast. Excellent customer service. security is good and is one of the only hotels in the area that has a 24 hour lobby. The area is not the best but it is very conveniently located to family. Do waste your time at the other hotels in this immediate area.
We were just passing through for a night and the La Quinta was perfect! It was very clean, comfortable beds and very accommodating. The breakfast had a great selection for a continental. Waffles, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, pastries. For people traveling with dogs this is the place! We were traveling with a puppy and they were able to put us next to the elevator for quick access out. There is also a nice little grass patch out back with bags available. It is also very close to one of the best off leash dog parks I've ever been to - Shelby Farm Dog Park. We will be back here just to take our dogs to that park!
The rooms look pretty nice and clean. The staff are friendly. They do allow dogs. I saw maybe a dozen including my own and all were well behaved (which is really more of a coincidence). The free breakfast is week but gets the job done. And there's no pool. The website shows one despite their renovations changing it into a dining room.
